Omaha, NE-based promo products distributor Bergman Incentives has acquired The Adwood Company (asi/114863), a Lincoln, NE-based ad specialty distributorship. The deal closed Tuesday. Financial terms were not released.
Executives at Bergman, which also has offices in Kansas City, said that acquiring Adwood will help the firm serve a larger geographic area while providing better service to current clients. Mike Battershell, Bergman’s president, is particularly excited about the opportunities that lie in Lincoln’s growing startup and technology sector. “We’re thrilled to be part of it and to continue to help brands take shape,” Battershell said.

Adwood President Bill Weesner praised Bergman Incentives’ “technological expertise” and “unique client services,” saying the Omaha-headquartered firm will help enhance the client experience for Adwood’s customers. “After more than 20 years in the business, I’m excited to have the support of the Bergman Incentives team to continue to provide stellar service for my clients,” Weesner said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Adwood will go to market under its name or the Bergman name. Counselor reached out for comment, but hadn’t heard back as of this posting.
Founded in 1888, Bergman Incentives has been a Nebraska family-owned and operated business for five generations. The firm provides branding/marketing services, apparel decoration, company stores, promotional products and more.
